The concept or metaphor of our lives being but a mere string of sparks on a screen is one which I’m sure belongs to many esoteric schools, including the Toltec. Don Miguel Ruiz told us, his students, (many years ago) stories about how we are meant to observe our lives, the movie on the screen, and change them in positive ways. Illusion was a great story of this.
In the movie Kirk Douglas is an old man, Mr. Bings, on his deathbed. He is visited by a guardian angel of sorts and taken to a place in the afterlife where akashic records are movie reals which have recorded the significant pieces of people’s lives. Sitting in this movie theater, he is shown records belonging to his son, who he never knew. This affords him the opportunity to know his son and the struggle leading to his death.
This movie touches on magic because it taps into the use of a miracle. When Mr. Bings, connects with his own feelings, regret and love for his son through the movies, he then employs a miracle to save his son’s life.
Save the day again, help my son! He implores his guardian angel, who simply responds It’s up to you this time.
A miracle occurs when we are in the flow, or vortex, of love. When actions are thus taken in this alignment to love, miracles are not uncommon. This is what Mr. Bings then experiences: he returns to his deathbed after his movie experience, not having missed a second of time on earth, and saves his son.
Illusion is a great illustration of our spiritual keys: by allowing the heavenly help in he then owns the problem and provides a solution. The result is miraculous.
The spiritual message for us all: we are capable of miracles and can even change events when we are in the flow of love.
